TMB (Debut Artist)
We're TMB, a Pakistani rock band based out of Seattle, US. The genesis of TMB, like other happy accidents in life, can largely be credited to coincidence. We were all doing music in different capacities when fate gave us the push we needed.

Our friend, Asad (the Radio Jockey) helped organize our first show. We Christened (or the muslim equivalent) ourselves TMB. Coming up with the name was a hard task. We had flirted with imagination and came up with such titles as "Endangered hypocrisy", "Jaded Sympathy", "Whored Ideologies" etc. but thankfully, we were all equally offended by our ideas. TMB seemed to fit. It stands for "To Make Benefit", very apt since most of our shows since (and henceforth) were played for the benefit of one charity of another, so TMB stuck.
We realized earlier on that doing a cover verbatim was not our forte. But it wasn't our weakness but our strength to amalgamate different styles that led to the creation of our unique sound signature. We started TMB-izing famous Pakistani rock songs and played to a (thankfully) receptive audience. Our sound was welcomed and our faith in TMB became stronger. "Sunno" and "Saraab" our debut singles were greeted with cheers by the desi rock enthusiasts in Seattle. Check us out at:

'Sunno' is our first original song, about a brilliant guy whose genius was not recognized. He takes his own life because society didn't give him what we wanted, and the song is from the perspective of his friend talking to him with mixed feelings, wishing he hadn't done it but also feeling it may have been the right thing for him. There is a lot of mixed emotion here; sadness, confusion, anger and acceptance. Let's just say we went with the flow! Note: the character was loosely based on Kurt Cobain… early rough takes were labeled "kc".
